An international aid organisation.Läkarmissionen, internationally known as LM International, a global foundation committed to sustainable poverty reduction from a human rights perspective.
Our mission is to empower individuals to create sustainable futures while preserving planetary health for generations to come. Our impact areas include food security and livelihoods, health and well-being, training and education, as well as water, sanitation and hygiene.
Founded in 1958, we have worked in over 80 countries and are currently active in 25 countries across four continents. The organisation currently employs over 500 people worldwide. Our primary target groups are marginalised communities and vulnerable women, youth and children. We work with local partner organisations, communities, governments, civil society, donors, the private sector and academia to advance sustainable, local-led solutions.
Our work is focused on Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe, and is coordinated from our global office in Stockholm. The organisation’s aid operations are funded through donations from the Swedish public and institutional grants.
